May the Light of Christ.........

Hello and greetings fellow crafters, glad you could stop by.   I recently found the stamp, "May the Light of Christ sing in your heart" at a thrift store.  My prayer is that you'll be inspired to shine His light to those around you and to be continually singing in your heart His wonderful grace which reaches to everyone.

I enjoyed putting this card together and was inspired by Becca Feeken at Amazing Paper Grace.  The outer portion is sealed on the left, top, and right sides and the card with the stamped image slides up inside the pocket from the bottom  The solid paper is from Stampin' UP called Island Indigo (aka: teal) and the flower is made using the blossom punch and I added white highlights with my Copic Opaque white with a paintbrush.  I used the Spellbinders Labels 24 to make the two frames and Spellbinders Crosses 2 in white and a shimmery teal plus Spellbinders Marvelous Squares for the light teal piece placed on top of the two crosses.  I added a small pearl to the center of the crosses, some bling on the upper left corner and two pieces of teal ribbon looped and placed under the flower.  I also had the designer paper for the background amongst my large stash.  The inside of the card was stamped with the quote and I also used some CTMH stamps for the butterfly and floral background behind the quote.  I used two step stamping for the butterfly so I could get the darker image on the main image and just a light fill inside.  I added a small glitter heart to the image to make it stand out a little more.  I also used Spellbinders Grand 12" Classic Lace Border for the borderability below the quote.  It was a really fun card to make, if you have any questions, leave me a comment and I'll answer your question. Thanks for dropping by.

Thy word is lamp unto my feet.............

Greetings blog friends, today's card is a wonderful reminder of how God directs our path when we are following His will for our lives.   When we are feeding on His Holy word we will find peace and rest that only the Divine one can deliver.  My prayer for you is that you know of His love and kindness in your life.

This 6x6 square card starts with a white base, a black mat plus a blue decorative mat one on top of the other.   The Spellbinders used for this card are: Damask Accents for the black accents around the Lattice Motifs (white paper).   I also used the Lattice Motifs to hand cut a black paper underneath the white paper. Then I used Big Scalloped Ovals Small for the sentiment from Karen's Word Art and the blue and black mats underneath.

The black flower is the Damask Accents and the white flower is crepe paper cut from Rose Creations.  The center of the white flower is a small dot cut from some leopard paper.  There are also green crepe paper leaves, a star covered in glitter, sequins under the Magnolia image, a coiled up paperclip expanded, and a plastic rose in Magnolia's hair from CTMH.   The Magnolia image is from the Sea Breeze Collection called Bikini Tilda.  She's really cute and I colored her with Copic Markers.   Thank you for visiting and drop in again.  Blessings.

U R Picture Perfect

Greetings blog friends, what a blessing to have you pay me a visit.  As this card states "U R Picture Perfect" is so true in the eyes of the Lord Jesus. He loves us with an unfailing love and His children are perfect in every way.   If you know Him as your Saviour, He meets our every need and our sins are as far as the East is from the West.  Praise the LORD!!

I've been practicing my coloring skills and made this card the last couple days.  I got my inspiration from Rhea Weigand at   She is an awesome copic color artist for "Make It Crafty" where you can enhance your alcohol marker skills at their challenge blog located at   I encourage you to visit both sites to get inspired to improve your alcohol ink coloring skills. (Both sites are located on the right side of my blog under "Card Inspiration Blog List".

Here is how I made the card from the bottom up.  The maroon background paper is 6x6 square, I added a piece of Stampin- Up designer paper on top, cut a cream paper and ran it through with a Spellbinders M-Bossibilities Reverence folder, and stamped with brown ink the negative strip and words "Picture Perfect" from a Close to my Heart stamp set called "Instant Memories".   The stamp is a digital download from Make It Crafty called "April" and the UR is chipboard covered with maroon paper and the edges sanded.  I made the brown felt flower and the center of the cream flower with my Spellbinders Rose Creations, and the large white petal around the cream flower is a Stampin' UP punch called "Blossom".  I cut the circular flower by hand and coiled it up and underneath the flowers is some cheese cloth, an 18" piece of "Hug Snug" seam binding for the winter white ribbon, and some old gold photo corners around the edges.  Oh, and I almost forgot, the words are printed on a Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio 2 set plus I used some burgundy ribbon through it and taped behind the SU designer paper.  Whew!!

I enjoy hearing your comments or if you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line.  May the Lord richly bless you.

A Trip Down Memory Lane.......

Hello sweet blog friends, today I decided to take a trip down memory lane and post some old cards I designed over ten years ago, BD (before Dies).  Do you remember the days back before we had the blessings of all these wonderful dies and cutting machines?   My early crafting days go back to when there was a company called, "DOTS" (Dozens of Terrific Stamps) today which is called, "Close to my Heart".   Kind of tells you how long I've been making cards (25+ years).  Isn't it just like the Lord to give us the desires of our hearts and provide all these wonderful tools for us to use to glorify Him.  He daily blesses those who love to create and use our God given talents to create wonderful things for Him and the special people in our life through our cards.

Here are five cards I made before there ever was a "dress" die cut and everything was cut out by hand.  ENJOY!!

I created these using my old Barbie doll clothes as examples. I would draw them out on tissue paper for a template and cut them by hand using large decorative ribbon or paper then add pretty embellishments. They were kind of my pride and joy at the time.  I hope you enjoy todays post and get inspired to design and create something beautiful yourself.  Blessings today and always.
