Ticket to Paradise

Greetings everyone, hope you are having a good and Godly day, for of what lasting value is a good day if it isn't also a Godly day. I have a couple of fellow crafters (Robin and Phyllis) who are leaving for Hawaii in the next few days so I thought I would send them off with a Bon Voyage with a "Ticket to Paradise". I really hope you both have a fun trip and we'll look forward to seeing pictures and hearing your stories upon your return. This card also reminds me of my free ticket to heaven. If you know the Lord, you can receive one of these too. Don't miss out on the most beautiful place we've ever seen as it will be far greater and more beautiful than our present earth with no more sin. Isn't that a wonderful thought!! Don't miss heaven, ask Jesus to become Lord of our Life today.

Today I decided to include two photos of this card at different angles.  I often make my cards like a easel (see bottom photo).   By adding a cardboard back with a fold about one inch down from the top with only the top inch attached to the card it sits up stronger and is less apt to fall over.  That's why I call them "Art Cards" so the recipient can place them on a table to enjoy instead of being hidden away in a drawer somewhere. They can also be framed and hung up on a wall to be appreciated for years to come.

The card recipe is a 6x6 kraft paper base stamped with a nautical stamp I had.  The lighthouse frame is cut using Spellbinders Labels 18 with the edges embossed. I usually just use my stylus on the back of the cut out and press around the edges to make the raised impression. You can also run it through your cutting machine again if you have the correct sandwich. The lighthouse is a stamp I've had for years and the Magnolia stamped image is from the Sea Breeze Collection called "Salute Tilda".  Both are colored with copic markers and the die around Tilda is from Spellbinders called Lattice Rectangles. In front of Tilda I used part of a die from Spellbinders called Gilded Gate 2.  There is one additional die in red in the upper left corner called Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Motifs. You'll notice a piece of cut burlap, shells, compass, flip flops, ticket (colored red with copics), beads, starfish earring, and some blue sparkly swirly things from a border punch I have. These are just lots of trinkets I have collected over the years in my ventures to different thrift stores. Thanks for dropping by.  Baskets of Blessings.

HOWDY

Howdy partners, sorry for the delay in posting as I've been working on a major crafting project.  I'll post it before the end of the month.  It's been a real challenge and loads of fun.

I made this card sometime back and used the Spellbinders (SB) Labels 8 in rust and kraft, SB Gilded Gate 2 in a textured cream paper, SB Parisian Motifs in olive green for the corners and SB Rose Creations for the middle flower.  I stamped "Howdy" on a pre-cut metal banner and colored the cute Magnolia Image called "Mini Cowgirl" with Copic markers.  I hand drew the cactus'.  There are also two white flowers with pearls made with some punches.  The leaves are made with SB Foliage and a Martha Stewart branch punch.  The cowboy boots are a metal embellishment for added cuteness.

Blessings in Christ until next time.

O Give Thanks to the Lord

Greetings everyone, hope you are having a good and Godly day. I've been having some fun since my last post which included two card parties and an all day "Beth Moore" simulcast at my church.  The card I am posting today was lovingly given to a very special lady named Joyce.   She is due to have surgery again in the near future and I'm sure if you said a prayer for her it would be greatly appreciated. This scripture reminds us that we are to "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever".  What a promise we have that we can trust in His goodness and mercy even when we have trials and tribulations.

This card was made with Spellbinders Lattice Motifs and Crosses Two.   Radiant Rectangles and Jewel Keys were used for the sentiment area and of course the scripture is from Karen's Word Art which I so enjoy using on my cards.

Damask Accents make the black leaves around the flowers, I made the small birds nest out of twine and added a few pearls for eggs.   I made the black felt flower and I used Spellbinders Rose Creations to make the cream colored rose.   There is also some Hug Snug white ribbon and cheese cloth.

Thanks for stopping buy, drop in again.

Christmas Blessings

Greetings crafty blog friends, just a simple reminder to keep those in prayer that are still dealing with the tragedy that took place on 9/11/2001.  "May we never forget".

I took some time the past couple days to create a Christmas Art Card. I'm not usually thinking about Christmas this time of year but have noticed a lot of Christmas cards popping up on pinterest and many of the other crafty blogs I follow. I especially enjoy Christmas because we celebrate Christ's Holy birth. We wouldn't have salvation without Him coming to earth as the God man. Praise the Lord He willing came so we can have everlasting life with Him.

This magnolia stamp has to be one of my favorites along with the table. I colored them with Copic markers and used a Spellbinders Die Labels 2 along with the Ribbon Banners Large for the "Christmas Blessings" sentiment.

The poinsettia is using the three smallest Spellbinders from Layered Poinsettia cut out of some sparkly paper and a small piece of foam in between each layer to give it height and depth. I used a lace doily and had to crinkle it up because it was larger than the 6 x 6 card. The ribbon is from Hug Snug and I died it using ink refills for my ink pads.  I also added the Spellbinders Fantastic Flourish 1 for the leaves and added a couple extra tiny leaves using the Layered Poinsettia along the flourish.

Thanks so much for dropping bye, may the Lord richly bless you today and always.

For it is by Grace..........

Greetings blog friends, hope you are having a great day in the Lord. My card for today is a scripture favorite from Ephesians. It is only by God's wonderful grace that we are saved. If we are relying on our own good works or deeds because we believe we are a good person in order to gain God's favor, we deceive ourselves. We can only rely on the shed blood of Christ and His sacrifice on the cross. It is the best gift ever given to mankind.

For this card I used the Spellbinders Marvelous Squares to make the frame and interlocked them. I used Spellbinders Crosses 2, Damask Motifs for the corners, a Couture Creations embossing folder called Radiant and a Sizzlit for the white filigrees.

The flower was made with a Sizzix die called paper sculpting daisy and I placed a small rose in the center with some old fashioned glitter. Thanks for stopping bye.

Once again......your generosity astounds.

Greetings fellow crafters, I spent several hours yesterday with a special new bestie in Jesus, Lisa and her daughter BethAnne. She was extremely generous and helpful in providing some much needed guidance on how to improve my blog image. It was a great time of fun and fellowship in the Lord.

This simple 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card speaks to the generosity we are to give one another in the Lord in the form of hospitality. It's a good reminder that we need to find ways to encourage others especially when they have encouraged us.

I used Spellbinders Damask Accents for the leaves.   The flower was made with Spellbinders Medallion 4 and a button off an old shirt from a long time ago I use to wear.  The sentiment is from Close to My Heart and is cut out with Spellbinders Opulent Ovals. Blessings and hugs.

Which Hope we have as an Anchor of the Soul

Greetings blog friends, I've been reading the Bible about the return of Jesus for His Saints and this verse from Hebrews is of great encouragement to me. What great blessings we have when we follow Christ. This verse assures us of God’s infallible promise in Christ. We can hope in Him without reservation because He is always faithful. For those who have fled to Christ for a refuge in the midst of this world’s turmoil can have a mighty indwelling strength and strong encouragement to grasp and hold fast the hope appointed for us in Him.

Todays card was inspired by some Stampin' Up paper I recently purchased named, "Island Indigo". I had the background paper that matched and thought brown would be a nice accent color. I made pictures with and without the Magnolia image of Edwin hanging on an anchor colored with Copic markers.

I started with a 6"x 6" square card.  It has Spellbinders Marvelous Squares in brown and Labels twenty four in "Island Indigo" (the white one I hand cut and distressed so you couldn’t tell if it wasn't cut straight). I used Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles to cut out the verse and added Fleur de Lis Motifs as accents around the verse and the flower in brown and white paper.    The blue polka dot flower was from Recollections.  Under the flower I used one of my favorite elements, cheese cloth.  You'll also see  a white Spellbinders Die D-Lites Fantastic Flourish 2, brown tulle, and some ribbon.   I made my first blog entry of this card (without Edwin) today over at Word Art Wednesday for challenge #96. I hope it will be inspiring to others.

If you have any questions about the card, feel free to leave me a comment and I'll get back to you.  I appreciate any input about my blog and how I might be able to encourage you in your paper craft projects.

Until next time……have a good and Godly day, for of what lasting value is a good day if it isn’t also a Godly day.

The Joy of the Lord

Greetings Blog friends, I can't tell you how much fun this is having a blog to post my cards. It's such a joy to have the privilege to share with you what God has blessed me with. I give Him all the credit for the talent and design abilities to make my handmade cards. He is "The Joy of my strength". I also want to give credit for the scripture images I've been using on my cards. They are designed by Karen at Paper Craft Memories, you can follow her link below on the right side of my blog. She has hundreds of different scriptures available on her blog to download and use for making cards or other craft projects.

This card was made using a Magnolia image called Tilda and Wiola (that's the dog) which I colored with Copics.

I made the small yellow roses and the cream colored flowers which are Spellbinders Rose Creations.

It also uses Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares, Spellbinders Crosses Two, Spellbinders Floral Flourishes, Spellbinders Damask Accents, and Sizzix Dies for the tree and fence. Thanks for stopping by.
